2nd Global Conference on Biofortification

The Global Panel on Agriculture and Food Systems for Nutrition is pleased to engage with Harvest Plus at the Second Global Conference on Biofortification, held from 31 March – 2 April 2014 in Kigali, Rwanda.

The Global Panel will use the outputs of this ‘Global Consultation on Expanding Access to Nutritious Foods’ to develop a policy brief on how biofortification could help to improve the nutritional outcomes of agriculture and food policies. The Panel will use this policy brief in its guidance to decision-makers, particularly governments, on generating nutrition-enhancing agricultural and food policy and investment in low and middle income countries.

The Global Panel’s participation in the conference includes a keynote address from Akinwumi Adesina, an opening panel discussion chaired by Mahabub Hossain and a closing plenary chaired by Rachel Kyte.
