In 2016, the Global Panel published a Foresight report Food Systems and diets: Facing the challenges of the 21st Century.

This has since been shared widely with policymakers in low- and middle-income countries and in international policy circles with the aim of sensitising policymakers on the urgent need for food systems to deliver healthier diets and better nutrition for the future.

In September 2020, the Global Panel published its second Foresight report, Future Food Systems: For people, our planet and prosperity on the 29th September 2020

Drawing on the latest science and evidence, the report identifies the systemic policy failures that are impeding change, and sets out the essential steps that need to be taken so that food systems can transition so that they become fit for the future.

In January 2025, the Global Panel published a third report, Building resilience and enhancing nutrition in Africa’s food systems.

The Report, produced in collaboration with the governments of Malawi, Sierra Leone, and Ethiopia. Funded by Irish Aid, the report aims to develop realistic and pragmatic strategies to substantially enhance each country’s capacity to provide affordable and sustainable, healthy diets for all, ensuring resilience to future challenges, and building on the leadership these countries have demonstrated in the region
